This grand and gracious Antebellum was built by Francis Colley
around 1838 for his son, Henry F. Colley and his wife Isabella Harris
Colley. Captain Henry F. Colley was killed in the Civil War in 1862
with his widow continuing to live in the home the rest of her life
with two surviving daughters, Mrs. Isabella Colley Denham and Miss
Josephine Colley. It remained in the family and was "home" to the
descendants of the original builder until 2005!
Inside, the wide entrance hall , flanked on each side by two elegant parlors, leads into a most welcoming and grand formal dining room expanded by the addition of bays added during the Victorian renovations of the home. Ceilings soar...Heart of pine floors and chandeliers glisten as beautiful mantled fireplaces adorn most every room.
